| Description: | The AOS data system lost communications initially with the 3-wavelength TSI nephelometer.
A communications port on the Sun workstation became locked, and attempts to unlock it
were unsuccesful. Stopping and restarting the data collection software did not solve the
problem. Missing value codes were being generated for all TSI nephelometer measurements
and parameters. The decision was made to reboot the workstation. On 981110, at 1555 GMT,
the workstation was rebooted. We discovered then that we did not have the proper root
user password to log back onto the system and restart the software. From 981110 (1555GMT)
to 981112 (0501GMT) no data were being logged by the AOS data system. |
