Subject: | TWP/SKYRAD/C2 - Tracker Problem |
DataStreams: | twpskyrad60sC2.b1, twpskyradC2.00
|
Description: | The observers reported that the tracker was not shading the radiometers.
The sun sensor was damaged by moisture due to a missing front window. The tracker had
been in sun-sensing mode so required the sensor to maintain its proper orientation. Troy
Culgan placed the tracker in time-track mode (calculates solar position based on time,
date, and location) until the sun sensor can be repaired. |
Suggestions: | Data users can still use the down_short_hemisp (total hemispheric shortwave)
parameter. The direct and diffuse components (short_direct_normal and
down_short_diffuse_hemisp) may occasionally be correct but the tracking is very unreliable during this period so
these quantities should not be used. |
