NIM/AOS/M1 - Time uncertainty
DataStreams:nimnoaaaosM1.00
Description:
We discovered a problem with the laptop computer being able to keep correct time on
12/02/2005. The time was drifting by as much as 25 sec per minute and causing multiple entries
at the same time. The problem seemed to have resolved itself within a few days. On
12/11/2005 we noted that the computer clock was within 1 second of the time.gov atomic clock.

Data before 12/04/2005 was edited out as the computer clock was off and during this period
the instruments were being set and calibrated. The time offset for the time between
12/04/2006 and 12/11/2006 was verified by comparing a fast response temperature sensor on the
AOS stack outside the trailer to the time response of the temperature sensor on the
microwave radiometer profiler(mwrp). The two temperature signals were within 15 minutes of
each other. We estimate the time uncertainty associated with the AOS data during this time
period to be +/- 15 minutes.
