Subject: | OLI/RL/M1 - Photon counting and analog signals contaminated with ambient and laser light |
DataStreams: | olirlM1.a0 |
Description: | A malfunction of the narrow-field-of-view (NFOV) "flipper" caused light to leak into the mode 0 measurement. The mode 0 measurement is used to characterize the response of the system in the absence of any light (i.e. its used to measure the noise). The measurement is done once per hour. During the period in question the mechanism that's used to block the aperture (flipper) for the NFOV channels malfunctioned. A new flipper was installed on 2016-09-21. |
Suggestions: | Be aware that the NFOV photon counting and analog signals for filter=0 are contaminated with ambient and laser light. |
