Subject: | SGP/QCRAD/E12 - Reprocess: reprocess with interpolated ebbr data |
DataStreams: | sgpqcrad1longE12.s2, sgpqcrad1longE12.c2 |
Description: | Met data from 5ebrr.b1 data is used at this site. The data in the ebbr data stream is 5-minute average resolution while QCRad output has a 1-minute time interval. Currently the ebbr data is stored in the QCRad output only once every 5 minutes, rather than interpolating to each minute. i.e.it stores the data every 5 minutes and the rest of the time is filled with values of -9999. The reprocessed data will interpolate the ebbr data to 1-minute intervals. This means that QC checks requiring Temperature data (impacting primarily the LW measurements) are only able to be done once every 5 minutes. |
Suggestions: | If users want to use QCRad to obtain meteorological data, be aware that the data is 5-minute apart. Interpolation should be done if finer time intervals are required. Additionally, some LW irradiance QC checks are only applied once every 5 minutes, so not all data has been screened because of the missing meteorological values. There is not necessarily anything wrong with these irradiance measurements, we just have less information about their quality.
