TWP/MPL/C1 - Degradation of polarization

The MPL was showing signs of laser wear and was no longer correlating well with either the 
local VCEIL or the local KAZR.  Instrument was not reporting any cloud signatures at 
night, and showed a notable lack of scatter near the surface.  The deterioration appears to 
have started around 7/01 and slowly progressed.

The system was replaced 8/24/2011.

Depolarization values are incorrect.  However, upper level cloud heights may still be 
usable.
