The difference between the first pressure value reported by the sonde
after launch (968.5) and the surface value entered by the operator (973.8)
is greater than would normally be expected.
The altitude values for this sounding will be incorrect as will be the
ascent rates for the first 30 seconds. Some of the thermodynamic data
at the beginning of the soundings (when ascent rates exceed 12 m/s) will
be the result of interpolation between the surface value and the first
value obtained when the ascent rate with in acceptable limits. |
