The flow bypass valve failed which routed flow through the bypass line rather than through 
the instruments. The bypass line was capped the next day. The valve was replaced on 
4/19. Data is considered unusable during the time between the valve failure on 3/22 and the 
capping of the flow line on 3/23.

Description:
Following a power outage at the site both a PID controller for the main sample flow as 
well as a circuit board on the reference nephelometer were inoperable. The PID controller 
was replaced on 5/18 and the neph circuit board was replaced on 6/22. On a site visit in 
August the mentor found the PID had not been programmed correctly and was reading erroneous 
flows. The actual flow was at 50% of the recorded flow. Because the sample flow is 
diluted by 50% this makes most if not all of the sample flow from 5/18 to 8/11 from the diluter.

Description:
The ratio of CCN to CN started to noticeably decline around 20070901. After a site visit 
on 20071023, the mentor found a problem with the instrument flows and diaphragm pump.  The 
instrument was return to Boulder, CO for repair. The diaphragm pump was repaired and the 
flows re-calibrated. The instrument was returned to service 20071113. 

The CCN data show qualitative changes in the number of droplets formed with changes in 
supersaturation. Because the pump was not working properly and the flows were likely 
incorrect, the numbers are not quantitative.
