Subject: | NSA/MET/C1 - Temp/RH/wind data questionable |
DataStreams: | nsametC1.b1, nsatwrC1.b1 |
Description: | New wind sensors and new T/RH probes were being installed during this time period. The tower booms were lowered and much of the data collected were not at listed heights nor were the data accurate due to configurations during install. |

Subject: | NSA/MET/C1 - Wind data intermittent |
DataStreams: | nsametC1.b1, nsatwrC1.b1 |
Description: | There was a loose wire on the serial data multiplexer causing the wind data to become missing during high wind situations. The high winds caused the enclosure to vibrate making the connection intermittent. |

Subject: | NSA/MET/C1 - Met data incorrect during calibration |
DataStreams: | nsametC1.b1, nsatwrC1.b1 |
Description: | All met data from the tower booms (temp, RH, winds and derived variables) were incorrect due to the booms being lowered from their measurement heights. Additionally, the scaffolding was located directly adjacent to the booms affecting the wind field and the Temp/RH data. |

Subject: | NSA/MET/C1 - 2m RH values incorrect |
DataStreams: | nsametC1.b1, nsatwrC1.b1 |
Description: | The new t/rh probe installed during annual calibrations and checks began to exhibit readings that were biased high compared to the Chilled Mirror Hygrometer. In high RH conditions the sensor would consistently report RH values in excess of 105%. Comparisons to the other tower levels also suggested that the 2m level RH data is suspect. |

Subject: | NSA/TWR/C1 - 40m T/RH Sensor Failure |
DataStreams: | nsatwrC1.b1 |
Description: | 40m RH data were very noisy after tower maintenance. Following system re-boot, RH data were too high. Sensor was replaced. |

Subject: | NSA/TWR/C1 - 40m and 20m Data Incorrect |
DataStreams: | nsatwrC1.b1 |
Description: | A power distribution problem required us to shut down power to the 40m level. All T/RH were missing and the 40m wind sensor did not have heat to remove any ice build up. All wind data from the 40m level should be viewed critically before use. The 20m T/RH sensor was power spike when the problem occurred causing this sensor to become erratic. See D100302.2 for the continuation of the 40m problem. |

Subject: | NSA/TWR/C1 - Wind sensor data failures |
DataStreams: | nsatwrC1.b1 |
Description: | The wind speed and direction values for 2m, 10m and 20m dropped to zero at 14:20 GMT. The cause was a power failure due to failed power line. Power spikes caused the wind sensors to revert to default settings for communications and measurements. The following is a list of dates that the various sensors came back online: 2m wind problem ending on 01/28/2010 @ 2330GMT 20m wind problem ending on 02/04/2010 @ 2230GMT 10m wind problem ending on 02/05/2010 @ 2100GMT 40m winds were already failing and documented in DQPR 2262 and PIF P091030.1. The MET system was also affected and documented in DQPR 2337. |
