DataStreams: | sgpmfrsrE1.a0, sgpmfrsrE1.b1, sgpmfrsrlangleyE1.c1, sgpmfrsrlangplotE1.c1 |
Description: | There was a slight shading problem with this instrument in the afternoon hours between 20050412 and 20050419. The shading was adjusted but the adjustment resulted in a more pronounced morning shading problem. Shading was adjusted again on 20050503 correcting the shading throughout the day. |

Subject: | SGP/MFRSR/E1 - Intermittent data |
DataStreams: | sgpmfrsrE1.a0, sgpmfrsrE1.b1 |
Description: | Chunks of data (all channels) are missing from 20050514 - 20050712. After maintenance was performed on 20050712 the 415, 500 and 940 nm channels are available, and while they look OK, they should be used with caution. |

DataStreams: | sgpmfrsrE1.a0, sgpmfrsrE1.b1, sgpmfrsrlangleyE1.c1, sgpmfrsrlangplotE1.c1 |
Description: | The 940 nm channel is occasionally flatlining with respect to the other channels. There was a problem with the cable that was causing channel 940 to drop out, or appear noisy, throughout this period. Maintenance on 1/10/2006 resolved the problem. None of the other channels were affected. |

DataStreams: | sgpmfrsrE1.a0, sgpmfrsrE1.b1, sgpmfrsrlangleyE1.c1, sgpmfrsrlangplotE1.c1 |
Description: | Shading issues throughout this period. It is first noticeable on 11/16/2005, albeit ever so slightly. Maintenance was attempted on 1/10/2006 but that only shifted the shading problem from the afternoon to a mostly all day situation. And it became much worse. Maintenance on 2/7/2006 finally fixes the alignment. If data from this period is critical, the morning data from 11/16/2005 to 1/09/2006 is probably OK. Don't use any diffuse or direct data from 1/10/2006 through 2/7/2006 at 2030. |

DataStreams: | sgpmfrsrE1.a0, sgpmfrsrE1.b1, sgpmfrsrlangleyE1.c1, sgpmfrsrlangplotE1.c1 |
Description: | Channel 415 and sometimes 500 are over-ranging, i.e., the signal overloads the sensor and the result is flat data bounding solar noon. Typically the affected time range is between 1730 and 2000 UTC, though on partly cloudy days the time range expands slightly. Global, diffuse and direct data will all be affected and should not be used when the signal is over-ranging. Only channels 415 and 500 are affected. |

DataStreams: | sgpmfrsrE1.a0, sgpmfrsrE1.b1, sgpmfrsrlangleyE1.c1, sgpmfrsrlangplotE1.c1 |

Subject: | SGP/MFRSR/E1 - Instrument maintenance |
DataStreams: | sgpmfrsrE1.a0, sgpmfrsrE1.b1 |
Description: | Coinciding with a tech visit to the site, the instrument suffered a step function in the data. After the "step" the relative intensities dropped across all channels, and the relative position changed for channel 415 as well. Investigation into the cause of the step has yielded no answers. In the end this will likely be nothing more than a curiosity as the Langley plots and calibrations are not dependent on absolute calibration. |
