NSA/GVR/C1 - Temperature sensor wire broken
DataStreams:nsagvrC1.a0, nsagvrC1.b1
Description:
The temp_ext temperatures were occasionally spiking to very large values. Comparisons with
the co-located 2m METTWR suggest the GVR exterior temperatures were not reporting
correctly. Site ops found the temperature sensor had a broken wire and repaired it 7/13.

NSA/GVR/C1 - Incorrect auxiliary measurements
DataStreams:nsagvrC1.a0, nsagvrC1.b1
Description:
Between 6/16 and 6/19 there was a software problem and the auxiliary measurements all were
reading constant values. The brightness temperature measurements do not appear to be
affected.
One of the incorrect measurements that may affect the use of the data is the surface
temperature. This measurement should be disregarded.

Measurements from a different instrument (such as the MWR) can be used to replace the GVR
readings.

DataStreams:nsagvrC1.a0, nsagvrC1.b1, nsagvrrawC1.00
Description:
Beginning 7/16 all sky temperature data become nearly equal and abnormally constant. The
sky temperature data returned to normal on 7/22 ~20:00 UTC. The saturated brightness
temperatures were probably due to water or dew deposit on the window.

NSA/GVRP/C1 - Reprocessed: Calibration drift
DataStreams:nsagvrpC1.b1
Description:
The most transparent channels (170-176 GHz) exhibited signs of a drift in the calibration.
The radiometer was calibrated on Jan 17 2011. Data for 20101101-20110117 were
recalibrated and reprocessed. The reprocessed data were archived in May 2011.

After the calibration there was a problem restarting the software. The software was
successfully restarted on Jan 19.

NSA/GVRP/C1 - Reprocessed: Calibration drift
DataStreams:nsagvrpC1.b1
Description:
On Jan 24 2011 there was a power outage that caused another drift in the calibration. The
radiometer was put in scanning mode to collect tip data. The tip data were processed for
the most transparent channels. New calibration values were uploaded and took effect on
March 4 2011.

Data for 20110124-20110304 were recalibrated and reprocessed. The reprocessed data were
archived in May 2011.

DataStreams:nsagvrpC1.b1
Description:
The instrument experienced a period of missing data on 3/23/2011 from 05:38:30 GMT until
08:21:44 GMT. When data returned the surface temperature and surface relative humidity
were incorrect. Surface temperature flat-lined at 999.990 K and surface RH flat-lined at
999.990%.

On 3/24 the sensor was removed and cleaned resolving the problem.
