Note: All the Scanning ARM Cloud Radars (SACR) have been technically accepted by ARM as meeting specification and each radar's first data are available below. The following sites will be receiving SACRs: the central facility at the SGP site in Oklahoma; Barrow, Alaska; Darwin, Australia; Manus Island, Papua New Guinea; and the two ARM Mobile Facilities, AMF1 and AMF2.This directory contains links to data for the SACRs associated with each of these six sites. Each SACR actually includes two separate radars mounted on a single scanning pedestal. For Barrow and the SGP facilities and AMF1, the two frequencies are 35 GHz (Ka-band) and 94 (W-band) GHz. For the remaining sites the frequencies are 10 GHz (X-band) and 35 GHz (Ka-band). Each of the radars provide measurements of reflected power, Doppler velocity (the average radial velocity of particles relative to the radar), and Doppler velocity spectral width (a measure of the spread of velocities around the average). The data contained in the six site sub-directories here provide a sample of these measurements including raw data files (extension ".dat"), ascii data files, and a sample image. See the Ka-SACR, W-SACR, and X-SACR web pages for more information.
