TMP/MWACR/M1 - Possible antenna offset from zenith
A preliminary analysis of vertically-pointing Doppler velocity from all four radars at the site (KAZR, MWACR, KaSACR and XSACR) suggests that MWACR may have a systematic velocity bias. The bias appears to depend on height and wind profile, suggesting it could be caused by mispointing of the MWACR. A more detailed study of the radars plus sounding information indicates the MWACR is mispointed by approximately 1 degree from zenith, into azimuth direction of 75 degrees from North.
Use data with caution, particularly at greater radar ranges where mispointing would have greater significance.
