Subject: | SGP/MWR/B1 - Increased noise level |
DataStreams: | sgpmwrlosB1.b1, sgpmwrtipB1.a1
|
Description: | The radiometer was experiencing intermittent increase in the noise level of the two
channels. Although it looks like the radiometer was still able to calibrate, the increased
noise level may have resulted in a reduced number of tip curves collected. The increased
noise was intermittent and lasted for a few hours at a time. |
Suggestions: | Disregard the short periods of time when the high noise appears. |
Measurements: | sgpmwrtipB1.a1: - Total water vapor along zenith path using tip-derived brightness temperatures(vaptip)
- Total liquid water along zenith path using tip-derived brightness temperatures(liqtip)
- 31.8 GHz sky brightness temperature derived from tip curve(tbskytip31)
- 23.8 GHz sky brightness temperature derived from tip curve(tbskytip23)
more
sgpmwrlosB1.b1: - Mean 23.8 GHz sky brightness temperature(tbsky23)
- Mean 31.4 GHz sky brightness temperature(tbsky31)
- Total water vapor along LOS path(vap)
- Averaged total liquid water along LOS path(liq)
