GEC/SSMI/X1 - F15 SSM/I Interference

The SSM/I F15 (gecssmi15X1.c1) data starting on 8/14/2006 should be used with caution due 
to interference from a RADCAL beacon. On 4/19/2009, corrections were made to the data and 
the data were reprocessed.  According to the data provider, Remote Sensing Systems 
(RSS), the data are adequate for observational use. However, RSS states: "DO NOT use F15 data 
from 2006-Aug-14 forward for climate research."

For data between August, 2006 - December, 2009, users may use F13 or F14 datastreams. 
Availability is as follows:
F13 SSM/I (gecssmi13X1.c1) May 1995 to November 2009 (11/18/2009)
F14 SSM/I (gecssmi14X1.c1) May 1997 to August 2008 (8/7/2008)

F16 data for 2003--> present will be available in the archive shortly.
