NSA/IRT/C1 - Intermittent missing reference temp

The data were intermittent due to serial communication problems. Several things were done 
in attempts to correct the problem, including changes to the serial cable, fiber optics, 
serial device server, acquisition computer, and instrument. Each method of corrective 
maintenance had some limited success in improving the signal. The problem was corrected when 
the serial communication infrastructure was upgraded.
