ENA/PBLHT/C1-Oceanic Site Planetary Boundary Layer Heights (PBLHs) from Radiosondes -
Possible Issue
DataStreams:enapblhtsonde1mcfarlC1.s1, enapblhtsonde1mcfarlC1.c1
Description:
Automated methods for estimating PBLHs from radiosonde data may in some instances be
identifying shallow stable layers over island surfaces as the PBLH. Insufficient data exists
at this time to modify the automated algorithms to resolve this situation. Reported
oceanic site PBLHs of <100 m, particularly at night, should be used with caution.
