SGP/GOES8 - Loss of data due to receiving station hardware failure

The following information was received from Robert Zimdar
of SeaSpace to explain the data loss.

We suffered a hardware failure in our primary (NEW) GOES-8
acquisition system.  Unfortunately I was out of town and was
not notified until yesterday.  I am switching over to the
old system today until I can determine the failure cause.
