Description:
Summary:  Mentor suggests not using data from this period.  If data from this period are 
important, read the following details to see if any might be useful.

Details:  The logger board was replaced late in the day on 20050921 and there were 
immediate problems.  Channel 615 is too high and 500 is not functioning.  At times in successive 
days 500 will appear for a bit in the morning and look OK, but then flat lines.  This is 
typical behavior for ch 500 through 20060307.  Ch 615 remains high through 20060307 as 
well.

On 20051007 channel 940 drops out.  From this day through 20060307 there are many days and 
times when 940 is flat.  When it is functioning it looks OK.

As far as the other channels go...  They generally look OK, but when considering the 
problems with 500, 615 and 940, the mentor recommends a careful examination before any data 
are used.

On 20060308 maintenance corrected the above problems with one minor exception.  Between 
20060309 and 20060318 channel 940 was still suffering from drop outs and flat lining.  From 
20060319 on all channels look OK.

Description:
On 9/3/2005 the instrument was abruptly knocked out of alignment.  Shading problems were 
severe enough that the mentor recommends not using data during the period of this DQR.  
Note that at the time of maintenance on 9/27 there is evidence that even the hemispheric 
data were effected which is why those data are flagged in this DQR.  The maintenance on 
9/27/2005 resolved the problem.

Description:
This particular shading problem wasn't very severe, and in fact wasn't noticed until Dec 
2005.  Careful examination of the data reveal it likely started around Oct 25, though at 
time it was so slight it is unlikely to have more than a negligible effect on the data.  
The start of November 2005 is when a data user should become concerned, though it isn't 
until December that the mentor suggests ignoring the diffuse and direct data altogether.  
The hours to be concerned with are from 1400-1900 UTC.  Outside these hours data are OK.

Description:
Shading issues throughout this period.  It is first noticeable on 11/16/2005, albeit ever 
so slightly.  Maintenance was attempted on 1/10/2006 but that only shifted the shading 
problem from the afternoon to a mostly all day situation.  And it became much worse.  
Maintenance on 2/7/2006 finally fixes the alignment.  If data from this period is critical, 
the morning data from 11/16/2005 to 1/09/2006 is probably OK.  Don't use any diffuse or 
direct data from 1/10/2006 through 2/7/2006 at 2030.
