Due to system clock instability on ECOR computers their system time is adjusted 
approximately once per hour; sometimes this adjustment leads to backward time jumps over midnight, 
into the previous day. In this case all the data based on CO2/H2O measurements might be

Communication problem on the serial connection to the SONIC 
              caused data dropouts and subsequent data corruption.  In entering 
              the ECOR Linux box through the sonic serial port, the serial port 
              or the Linux driver handling it (likely the latter) sometimes 
              drops entire fields (one or more) within a line of raw sonic 
              data.  When that happens, the ECOR programming can not properly 
              parse the data (if it's not there to parse) and so the flux and 
              mean measurements come out as garbage in the 30 minute ECOR data 
              that is collected for ingest.
