Subject: | SGP/MFR25M/C1 - Loose connections |
DataStreams: | sgpmfr25mC1.a0, sgpmfr25mC1.b1 |
Description: | No solar data after 03/24/2002 and no head temp data after 03/25/2002. Connections were reseated on 04/02/2002, but the data still looked bad. More maintenance occurred on 04/11/2002, when a reseating and tightening of the connections was performed. |

Subject: | SGP/MFR25M/C1 - Intermittent small time stamp error |
DataStreams: | sgpmfr25mC1.a0, sgpmfr25mC1.b1 |
Description: | The internal code that runs the MFR data logger had a bug that occasionally caused the time stamp associated with the data to be slightly in error. This error is thought to be very small (say less than 30 seconds) and very infrequent. (Unfortunately, we cannot give firm estimates of the magnitude and frequency of the error). Also, the upwelling MFR measurements were contaminated by electrical noise originating from the heater contained in the sensor head. During the time the sensor head was polled by the data logger, the heater would strobe "on and off", and the noise caused by this strobing could greatly contaminate the data. Some of the data is so contaminated that it is virtually useless. After 96/03/27 these problems were corrected. Those who use the data before this time should realize that the time stamp for each record of data might be slightly in error, and the data could be very noisy due to the heater switching on and off. |

Subject: | SGP/MFR25M/C1 - poor data quality |
DataStreams: | sgpmfr25mC1.a0, sgpmfr25mC1.b1 |
Description: | In the middle of August, the logger board that collects data from the 25m MFR was upgraded. This upgrade did not work out as planned, and the data quality from the MFR are not good. The poor data is easily identifiable - you'll know it when you see it. After 19961008, a new logger board was installed that solved the problem. Note: the exact date when these problems started is not known with precision; it could be several days prior to or after 960822. |
