Subject: | PGH/MWR/M1 - Reprocessed: Incorrect calibration |
DataStreams: | pghmwrlosM1.b1, pghmwrtipM1.a1 |
Description: | When the radiometer started to collect data it was not at its final location and had an obstructed field of view. The radiometer was moved to its final location on 7/13/2011. After the radiometer was moved it started to collect good data for calibration. The MWRLOS data were reprocessed with appropriate calibrations. The reprocessed data were archived in July 2012. |

Subject: | PGH/MWR/M1 - Reprocessed: Incorrect retrievals |
DataStreams: | pghmwrlosM1.b1, pghmwrtipM1.a1 |
Description: | The retrieval coefficients were incorrect because the site did not have a historical radiosonde database. MWRLOS data were reprocessed at the end of the deployment with correct retrieval coefficients. Reprocessed data were archived in July 2012 |

Subject: | PGH/MWRP/M1 - Reprocessed: Time corrected |
DataStreams: | pghmwrpM1.b1 |
Description: | The computer clock had the daylight saving on so the measurements time was off 1 hr. The setting was changed on 7/15. Data for 20110620-20110715 were time corrected and reprocessed. |

Subject: | PGH/MWRP/M1 - Reprocessed: Incorrect V-band calibration |
DataStreams: | pghmwrpM1.b1 |
Description: | The V-band calibration was incorrect. An LN2 calibration was conducted and the data were reprocessed with updated calibrations at the conclusion of the campaign. The reprocessed data were archived in July 2012. |

Subject: | PGH/MWRP/M1 - Reprocessed: Incorrect retrieval coefficients |
DataStreams: | pghmwrpM1.b1 |
Description: | All retrievals were incorrect because the retrieval coefficients were not available for this site. Data were reprocessed at the end of the deployment after the coefficients were derived by the mentor. Reprocessed data were archived in July 2012. |

Subject: | PGH/MWRHF/M1 - Reprocess: Incorrect calibration |
DataStreams: | pghmwrhfM1.b1 |
Description: | The MWRHF is not tipping correctly. The views on the two sides of the radiometer are significantly different at all scanning angles. This could be an indication of obstructions in the field of view or a mirror misalignment. An LN2 calibration was unsuccessful as well. |

Subject: | PGH/MWRP/M1 - Channel interference |
DataStreams: | pghmwrpM1.b1 |
Description: | The 23.834-GHz channel was displaying high noise levels. It started with intermittent noise, but became more persistent with time. The problem was identified as interference from the near-by MWR. On 12/7 the radiometers were re-oriented and the noise level went down. |

Subject: | PGH/NFOV/M1 - Instrument noise/interference |
DataStreams: | pghnfov2chM1.b1 |
Description: | When the signals are very low, a regular feature can be seen in the data. It begins on the hour, and lasts for ~20 minutes. This feature is a rise in the signal of 0.25 to 0.33 mV. It is small even when compared with the NFOV's typically small signals. My initial hunch is the NFOV is located next to or nearby equipment that operates/broadcasts/etc beginning on the hour, and lasting for ~20 minutes. Looking (very closely) back at the previous deployment, this regular signal bump is also evident, so it seems the equipment contaminating the NFOV is part of the AMF1, and not unique to this deployment. 20111222 is a good example of the issue. |

Subject: | PGH/MWRP/M1 - Incorrect surface temperature and humidity |
DataStreams: | pghmwrpM1.b1 |
Description: | The surface readings of temperature and humidity are wrong. The sensor needs to be replaced. The sensor and dewblower were replaced on Feb 2 2012. The incorrect surface temperature and humidity will cause wrong retrievals as well. |

Subject: | PGH/MWRHF/M1 - Rain flag intermittently working |
DataStreams: | pghmwrhfM1.b1 |
Description: | The rain flag didn't work consistently during the deployment. Users should check the rain flag from other instruments such as the MWR to screen for rain events/contamination. |

Subject: | PGH/SKYRAD/M1 - Reprocess: Incorrect calibrations |
DataStreams: | pghskyrad20sM1.a0, pghskyrad60sM1.b1 |
Description: | During the entire India deployment the Skyrad system was configured with incorrect calibration coefficients for the shortwave instruments. The program hadn't been updated since the previous deployment in the Azores. The instrument mentor, site personal and OSS support have attempted to best determine the serial numbers of instruments installed at PGH during the deployment period. The following instrument data will need to be reprocessed with the following correction multipliers: PIR1-DIR(down_long_hemisp1): OK, no correction required PIR2-DIR(down_long_hemisp2): OK, no correction required Diffuse 8-48 (down_short_diffuse): 116.95(correct)/120.91(incorrect) = .96725 NIP (short_direct_normal): 127.03(correct)/124.97(incorrect) = 1.01648 PSP-DS (down_short_hemsip): 111.29(correct)/108.48(incorrect) = 1.02590 IRT: calibration should be validated by instrument mentor (Vic Morris): mult=26, offset=173.2 Correct serial numbers: Diffuse 8-48 (down_short_diffuse): 34066 NIP (short_direct_normal): 34135E6 PSP-DS (down_short_hemsip): 33942F3 |
