Today, we implemented changes in the ACARS QC processing that effect the
dewpoint data in both the java and non-java displays, as well as in the
downloadable netCDF data.
The new netCDF version number is 2.2. We processed this data retroactively
for a few hours, so this version starts at 21 UTC on 28 April 1999.
This version fixed a bug in the processing of vapor-sensing aircraft that
caused the dewpoint to be 0 degree to 5 degree (C) too cold, with the largest errors
occurring at high mach numbers (which occur at high altitudes).
Generally errors in dewpoint below 15,000 ft have been less than 3 degree C. |
