Description: | The HSRL laser still exhibits instability causing calibration uncertainty, especially for the beta_a (extinction profile), beta_a_backscatter (backscatter profile), and depol (depolarization ratio). Cloud and aerosol layer heights are quantitative and accurate however the calibrated quantities above have increased uncertainty. Nevertheless, the sensitivity of the HSRL in this degraded mode is still superior to other lidar on site (MPL and VCeil). The laser failed on 07/19/2013 at 22:30. |
