Subject: | ENA/OZONE/C1 - Failing pump |
DataStreams: | enaaosozoneC1.01 |
Description: | The pump was failing, and the operator attempted a repair. Eventually, the flow bypassed the pump internally and was replaced with an external HTDMA vacuum pump. Data appear valid since the flow only affects the internal calibration source and not the ambient measurement. Internal pump was repaired on 2016-09-20 11:00. The flow returned to the nominal value decreased slightly). The response to calibration increased proportionally (as expected given the lower flow rate and longer residence time in the O3 generator cell). The instrument response to ambient O3 should not be a function of the flow rate. HOWEVER, a slight discontinuity was noted in the ambient O3 values prior to this DQR and following this DQR end date. The amount of uncertainty was judged as <5 ppbv. |

Subject: | ENA/OZONE/C1 - Water condensing in the line |
DataStreams: | enaaosozoneC1.01 |
Description: | Instrument suffered major oscillations in the signal. Working with Operator it was discovered that the Split System Air Conditioner was blowing directly on the Ozone detector. Water was condensing in the line. The air was redirected and the temperature setpoint raised. This reduced but didn't entirely eliminate the oscillations. |
