TMP/XSACR/M1 - Reprocessed and Corrected: Mean Doppler Velocity sign reversed

DATA REPROCESSED and CORRECTED: 

The signs of the mean_doppler_velocity field values were incorrect. The ARM convention for 
this field is that positive velocities indicate motion away from the radar. However, the 
velocity data in these files had their signs reversed, so that motion TOWARD the radar 
had a positive sign.

The mean_doppler_velocity values were multiplied by -1, so now motion away from the radar 
has a positive sign. The data were archived March 2017. Please retrieve the modified data 
for use in your analysis.

The KASACR was in continuous vertical point mode during this period.  There are 
fluctuations in the data every hour affecting most variables.

TMP/MWACR/M1 - Instrument failure

During this period, there were gaps in the data due to restarts and subsequent computer 
hangups.  During this period, the radar clutter filter was not turned on causing a noisy 
signal when there were no significant radar returns.

TMP/KAZR/M1 - Snow Buildup

There was potentially a build up of snow on the instrument causing large differences in 
the reflectivity as compared with the MWACR.

The field 'linear_depolarization_ratio' is misnamed.  The field should instead be called 
'differential_reflectivity,'

TMP/XSACR/M1 - Incorrect calibration constant recorded

Files contain incorrect values for calibration constant(s).  All other fields are correct, 
including reflectivities.   For moments files, the affected fields are called 
'r_calib_radar_constant_h' and 'r_calib_radar_constant_v.'	In spectra files, the global attribute 
'cal_constant' is incorrect.

TMP/MWACR/M1 - Possible antenna offset from zenith

A preliminary analysis of vertically-pointing Doppler velocity from all four radars at the 
site (KAZR, MWACR, KaSACR and XSACR) suggests that MWACR may have  a systematic velocity 
bias.  The bias appears to depend on height and wind profile,  suggesting it could be 
caused by mispointing of the MWACR.  A more detailed study of the radars plus  sounding 
information indicates the MWACR is mispointed by approximately 1 degree from zenith, into 
azimuth direction of 75 degrees from North.
