Subject: NSA/KASACR/C1 - Mean Doppler Velocity sign reversed
Affected Datastreams: nsakasacrspeccmaskxpolC1.a0
Description The signs of the mean_doppler_velocity field values are incorrect. The ARM convention for this field is that positive velocities indicate motion away from the radar. However, the velocity data in these files have their signs reversed, so that motion TOWARD the radar has a positive sign.
Measurements
  • mean_doppler_velocity (Mean Doppler velocity)

Subject: NSA/KASACR/C1 - Reprocessed and Corrected: Azimuth offset
Affected Datastreams: nsakasacrawrhiC1.a1
Description DATA REPROCESSED and CORRECTED: When comparing against the XSAPR, there was a noticeable 180 degree offset in the returns. This stemmed from problems with the pedestal. The netCDF data has been modified by using python scripts that added 180deg to their azimuth values. All *rhi* datastreams also had 180deg added to their fixed_angle values. In the case when the values exceeded 360, they were "wrapped" around. (subtracted 360) The data were archived in April 2017. Please retrieve the reprocessed data for use in your analysis. You may find these data using the ARM Discovery tool at the following link: http://www.archive.arm.gov/discovery/#v/results/s/finst::kasacr/fsite::nsa/ffac::nsa.C1 ORIGINAL DQR CATEGORY: Red( Incorrect) REPROCESSED and CORRECTED DATA ARCHIVED:2017-04 REPROCESS IDENTIFICATION NUMBER: RID 1445 --------------------------------------------------- --- ORIGINAL DQR DESCRIPTION --- --------------------------------------------------- When comparing against the XSAPR, there is a noticeable 180 degree offset in the returns.
