Description The site experienced a lightning strike and apparently destroyed the MFRSR logger board. After lightning strike there was a short data gap followed by non-physical (roughly constant) values in all channels until the logger board was replaced.

Description A refurbished system with a new logger was installed on 20100114. This was our first install in the southern hemisphere. We had an unknown software bug, and initially the instrument was set up 180 deg off in an effort to get it to shade properly. This didn't work, and I suspect is related to the weird neg dir normal values that started this DQPR. A software fix was made, and the instrument was set up correctly on March 11. From that point forward, data look OK.

Subject: TWP/MFRSR/C3 - Head temp not being measured

Description The signal cable was replaced as a preventative measure due to observed corrosion on 20120124. That coincided (was not related) to a loss of communication. When comms were restored, it was discovered the head temperature was not being read. It was confirmed with another thermistor that the head temp was being maintained properly, so there is no adverse impact on the data. Ultimately it was discovered the signal cable that was put in as a preventative measure did not have the head temp wire connected at the data logger. A trivial problem that had us scratching heads for months.
